APCP SPECIALIST GROUPS

Paediatric physiotherapy encompasses a broad range of specialisms within its scope of practice and consequently APCP established its first specialist group in 2003 – the APCP Neonatal Group. Since this time 3 further groups have been established – The Neuromuscular Group, the Critical Care (Respiratory) Group, and recently the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Group.

In addition, in 2008 the Paediatric Physiotherapists in Management Support (PPIMS) group was officially recognised as a specialist group of APCP. This group had previously operated independently, although APCP and PPIMS have often collaborated in the past.

APCP Groups are a relatively new aspect of APCP, bringing together APCP members with a specific expertise or interest in each area to further promote APCP's general aims and objectives.
